I have been with this dental practice for few years and overall I am still very satisfied with the service I receive here.
I recently booked an appointment because a filling had cracked and fallen out. I had back-to-back appointments with the hygienist (£75 prepaid) and dentist, and as a working parent, I took a half day off work to attend.
Ross, the hygienist, was excellent. He was very efficient, courteous, and pleasant. I was very happy with his care.
However, my experience with the dentist was disappointing. I was seen by Libby (I think that was her name), who carried out a very quick examination and told me everything was fine and that I could leave. I was confused because my appointment was specifically to fix my filling. When I explained this, I felt there was no empathy or reassurance, and I was simply directed back to reception because she has no time for me.
I understand this may have been a booking issue at reception and that not enough time had been allocated for the filling. Mistakes happen. However, I hoped for a little more understanding and communication from the dentist, especially as patients often arrange time off work and wait weeks for appointments.
Thankfully, Sarah at reception was very kind and understanding. She did her best to resolve the situation and arranged for me to see another dentist, Joshua. Although he is a foundation dentist, he was polite, explained everything clearly, and completed the filling professionally and efficiently.
Overall, I still appreciate this practice and the team, but I hope there can be more empathy and understanding toward patients’ situations in the future especially for working parents who already juggle work, childcare, and appointments.
